Patrick Murphy

Patrick Murphy joined the Athletics Communications Office at Mines in September 2022 and serves as the primary contact for men's basketball, men's and women's soccer and softball. The 2026-27 school year will mark his fifth season in Golden and 14th season overall in intercollegiate athletics.

Through his first four years in Golden, he has helped coordinate hosting efforts for five Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship Tournaments along with various rounds of four NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championships. He has helped publicize five RMAC Academic Players of the Year, five RMAC Players of the Year, four RMAC Defensive Players of the Year, four RMAC Freshmen of the Year, four RMAC Coaches of the Year and 10 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America selections as well as numerous All-Americans from different organizations and publications. Murphy has been recognized in the CSC Creative & Digital Design Contest 14 times in his career, with numerous honors in each of his first four years at Mines for his work in graphic design, photography and creative video. He has also been named part of the RMAC's J.W. Campbell/Con Marshall Sports Information Department of the Year twice in 2022-23 and 2025-26.
