Danny Kambel

Danny Kambel is a college athletics communications professional, career mentor, speaker and relationship-builder with more than 25 years of experience in sports communications and higher education. He currently serves as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Communications at Spartanburg Methodist College, where his work focuses on storytelling, media relations, digital communications and promoting student-athletes, coaches and programs.

Throughout his career, Danny has worked across multiple levels of college athletics and has built his approach around communication, consistency, service and relationships. Those experiences also shaped his passion for helping students and young professionals better understand how careers are really built—not just through degrees and résumés, but through experience, follow-through, curiosity and the people they meet along the way.

That belief is the foundation of The GetSET Network, built around three principles: **Strategic, Engaged and Teamwork**. Through speaking, mentoring, career conversations and professional development, Danny encourages students to set clear goals, build meaningful relationships and become people others can trust and depend on.

Danny has shared his experience through classroom presentations, industry conversations, mentoring and his longtime SIDAssistant blog. His message is simple: networking is not about collecting contacts. It is about doing good work, helping others, staying connected and building enough trust that someone is willing to say your name positively when you are not in the room.
