Lifetime Achievement Award

Presented to individuals who have served at least 25 years in the athletics communications profession (as of July 2026) who are retiring or leaving the profession. Years of service vetted by the Special Awards Committee. Members may self-nominate for this award.

Bob Shreve — Gannon University Director of Sports Information and Promotions (retired)

“I am extremely honored to receive this award. I was fortunate at a young stage of my life to find a job that was perfect for me. Along the way I worked with many outstanding members of our profession plus the media, and so many memorable student-athletes and coaches. I'd like to thank the individuals who thought that I was deserving of this award. It means a great deal. Most importantly, thanks to the many graduate assistants and student workers along the way who made me look good. Most of all that's my proudest accomplishment in this profession — the successes they have gone on to enjoy. Thank you!”

Bob Shreve spent more than 40 years in the athletic media relations field, including 22 years at Edinboro University and 14 at Gannon University. He retired from Gannon in December 2025. He was inducted into the Edinboro Athletic Hall of Fame in 2024 and was previously inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (Erie Metro Chapter) in 2018.

In 2016, Shreve earned the ECAC-SIDA Irving T. Marsh Service Award and last year was awarded the Lester Jordan Award after working in the Academic All-America® program since 1992. He also served as sports information director at Mercyhurst University and West Chester University, and began his career as SID at Frostburg State University in 1982.

He was the national coordinator for the D2CCA (formerly Daktronics) men’s basketball program from 1996–2017. He has been honored with the top award in the country for his football media guides at both Edinboro and Mercyhurst. He has promoted many All-Americans, including Edinboro’s two-time Harlon Hill finalist and Hall of Fame quarterback Trevor Harris. He has also worked as the PA announcer and official scorer with the Erie SeaWolves (Detroit AA) for nearly 30 years.
