Burt Beagle, a local legend with New York City high school  and college basketball gyms, worked his 900th consecutive Baruch men's basketball game in a streak dating back to 1969.

Beagle, a former sports information director at Baruch and currently the associate coach for the baseball team, has worked all but one game in Baruch men's basketball history.

Burt missed the seventh game in team history during the inaugural 1969-'70 season due to a business trip to Ohio. Since January 10, 1969, he has worked every Baruch men's basketball game.

Baruch honored the accomplishment this evening against Lehman College on Senior Night with a specially-made basketball given to Burt that featured photos of him working, along the information on the streak that diligent research shows has not yet been touched by any stats person on the modern college level.

Burt is currently the sports information director for the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA). It is estimated that Burt works more than 300 high school basketball games every year.

Despite the urging of friends at the game to celebrate, Burt says he will honor the accomplishment by getting home to bed early tonight to make sure he is on time for tomorrow morning's Public School Athletic League (PSAL ) seeding meetings for the playoffs later this month.
