Here is information for all Division II sports information professionals on the Gene Upshaw Lineman of the Year Award. Nominations are currently being accepted and the nomination deadline is Monday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. Eastern/5 p.m. Central.

WHEN: Nomination deadline Monday, Nov. 21, 5 p.m. Central time
WHY #1: To recognize the top NCAA D-II offensive or defensive lineman in the nation
WHY #2: Winner of Upshaw Award earns an automatic invitation to participate in the East/West Shrine Game and NFLPA All-Star Game

The Upshaw Award is named in honor of the late Gene Upshaw, a former standout at Texas A&I (now Texas A&M-Kingsville) who went on to become an All-Pro offensive lineman for the Oakland Raiders and served as executive director of the NFL Players Association.
The Upshaw Award is sponsored for the eighth consecutive season by the Manheim Touchdown Club of Manheim Township Pa.
