Carolla Named Director of Communications for College Football 150th Anniversary Organization

Carolla joins the staff with more than 20 years of administrative experience working in collegiate sports. He is currently serving as President of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) – the national organization of strategic communicators for college athletics. He has worked in communications for the Big 12, Big East and Conference USA, handling all facets of public and media relations while serving as media coordinator for several large-scale events. A native of New Jersey and a graduate of the University of Connecticut, Carolla lives in Dallas with his wife and two children.

Jenkins has more than 15 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development and media relations. She is the owner of Hip Step Marketing where she offered strategic marketing and special event planning. Jenkins spent almost five years working for Silver Chalice, where she handled marketing plans, strategy and other initiatives for the Campus Insiders and ACC Digital Networks. She adds previous experience with the Charlotte Hornets and Chicago White Sox. Jenkins is an Arizona native graduated from the University of Arizona and resides in Dallas with her husband and two children.

Hughes comes to the anniversary team after spending the past two years at Old Dominion University as an Athletics Operations and Events Coordinator. At ODU, she coordinated the day-to-day operations of the football office and also assisted the senior associate athletic director with several other sports. Before arriving at Old Dominion, she gained experience working for the Washington Redskins and in the University of North Carolina football office. A native of Elizabeth City, N.C., Hughes earned her bachelor's from UNC as well as a master's from Georgetown University.

Carolla and Jenkins will begin their duties the week of October 9, while Hughes will join the team in Irving the week of October 23. The College Football 150th Anniversary staff will work out of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame headquarters in Irving, Texas.
