To highlight the work of sports communicators around #MarchMadness basketball, CSC First Vice President John Paquette, the BIG EAST Conference Senior Associate Commissioner, Sports Media Relations, was interviewed on the Collegiate Sports Connect video series by Bryan Fischer, Managing Editor and Content Strategist for Collegiate Sports Connect and the D1.ticker group.
Paquette discussed strategies and in’s and out’s of coordinating media communications during March Madness; the planning that goes into hosting the BIG EAST tournaments, with the men’s at the iconic Madison Square Garden; the growth of the women’s game behind Big East champion Connecticut and other rising national programs from the league; and the landscape of today’s media coverage and how to credential outlets in the changing digital/social media world.
