CoSIDA MINUTES, Sept. 28, 2006
I. President Doug Dull said the job description for
the Director of Internet Services was done and he
was sending it to the members of the committee. He
said he had also already received information from a
few people who were interested in the position.

II. There was discussion on the release of
information on graduation rates and if anyone had
received any advanced notice of the release. At
Large Representative Lawrence Fan said he had
received advance notice from his Faculty Athletic
Representative. Dull asked if SIDs could be notified
in addition to FARs to prepare for the announcement.
He said he would contact the NCAA for future release
dates on similar items.

III. Third Vice President Justin Doherty said the
committee looking at the Executive Director position
had met by conference call. He said as part of the
ongoing discussion, the group is putting together a
rough draft of an Executive Director job
description. He said the committee members were
getting their individual parts finished. He said
they should have a document for the full board on
the next call. He said the group members had spent
time educating themselves on similar positions to
get a good starting point and he said he would be
interested to see what the other board members think
of what they have come up with.

IV. Doherty  said several members of the Special
Awards Committee had asked about on-line nominating
and voting. He said he had talked to Jeff Rubin at
ICS and that he was very helpful. He said he hoped
to do at least the nominating process on-line this
year and was working to create one standard form for
the awards.

V. Director of Marketing Ed Carpenter asked if the
board had received a final report on the Academic
All-America voting for 2005-06. The answer was no
and Past President Joe Hernandez said he would
contact Academic All-America Committee Chairman Dick
Lipe to get a final report.

VI. Dull said the schedule for 2006-07 Academic
All-America voting and nominating was on-line. He
said he would contact Pete Moore to see if another
notice could be sent about membership before the
process begins.

VII. Dull asked Carpenter if there was a time-line
for the proposal by the Alumni Athlete Network. Dull
said he would like to move quickly on it and
Carpenter said he would talk to the Alumni contacts
again.

VIII. Carpenter said that he and Past President Pete
Moore had been on the phone with Multi-Ad to try and
reconcile the figures on CoSIDAs credit account.
Dull asked Carpenter to send him a copy of the
Multi-Ad contract. The board said Multi-Ad should
include information on its ad in the Digest and
Directory that indicates that CoSIDA gets credit
when new schools print with Multi-Ad.

IX. Carpenter asked Secretary Jeff Hodges if he had
sent CDs of the CoSIDA Directory to John Monaghan at
Marriott and Hodges said thet he had.

X. Carpenter said he wanted to begin contacting
members of the Marketing Committee and get the group
organized and going. Several names were given to
Carpenter as possible members of the committee. Dull
asked for board members to also volunteer for the
committee and said they should contact Ed.

XI. Treasurer Dave Wohlhueter said memberships were
coming in but at a slower pace than he had hoped.

XII. Wohlhueter said he would like to talk to the
Scholarship Committee. He said he was concerned that
he had sent numerous scholarship checks over the
years but had never received acknowledgement from
anyone that they had received the checks. Committee
liaison Carol Hudson said he would contact Robert
Hester, the chairman of the committee to get his input.

XIII. Wohlhueter asked if CoSIDA had ever received
word back from the Swim Coaches Association about
our Cease and Desist Letter. Hernandez said he had
not received any additional word from the Swim
Coaches and that it was now in the lawyers hands.

XIV. Wohlhueter asked Hodges when he should expect
CoSIDA letterhead. Hodges said he was being printed
by Multi-Ad and would be in the mail soon. The delay
was based on the departure of a board member and the
addition of Will Rolseon.

XV. Past President Rod Commons said he had talked to

Mary Flynn of Marriott and that she was working on a
list of cities as possible sites for 2012 in the
Central corridor.

XVI. Hernandez said he didnt have anything to
report on the 50th anniversary but would have an
update by the next call. Wohlhueter said the budget
for the 50th anniversary was $25,000.

XVII. Hodges said the CoSIDA directories were
printed and would begin shipping from Multi-Ad. He
also asked for any items for the upcoming November
Digest by October 1.
