Back home again in Orlando for #CSCUNITE23

Preparations are well underway for CSC UNITE, the first convention under the new association and convention names, to be held June 11-14 at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando.

This year’s event will be the first in four years in Orlando, which has hosted the convention five times since CSC first paired with NACDA & Affiliates Week in 2013.

Our convention again will feature a mix of educational programming (featured speakers, panels and hands-on training), the always-popular Divisional Day programming, awards ceremonies (CSC Hall of Fame and Special Awards events plus the Academic All-America Hall of Fame), and social events (Kickoff reception in the CSC exhibit hall and a night in the NACDA exhibit hall).

One of highlights of general programming will be a featured session on The Value of Intentional Career Building To Increase Your Influence on Sunday afternoon, June 11. Speakers will include Chris Werle, Senior Vice President of Padilla, and Beth Goetz, Deputy Director of Athletics and Chief Operating Officer at the University of Iowa. Then on Tuesday, June 13, CSC will co-host a branding and social media mega-session with NACMA in the morning, followed by another mega-session in conjunction with ICLA on communications and licensing that afternoon, featuring representatives from Getty Images, CSC and ICLA on the topics of executing successful celebrations/big moments/campaigns, promoting and protecting contest through with Getty Images IP rights.

Among the other programming, there will be a featured presentation by Jen Sabatelle, CBS Sports Executive Vice President of Communications; a mental health session featuring mental health empowerment speaker Ivy Watts and Eric Poldroo, co-founder of The Zone, a state-of-the-art mental wellness platform; a conversation with college sports women leaders, including Patti Phillips, CEO of Women Leaders in College Sports; a session with national and local TV and print media; multi-sessions and breakouts on writing and editing; diversity and inclusion sessions with an "it's more than you think" theme; using NCAA LiveStats and sports data for your strategic messaging/storytelling; graphics and digital design; speed networking and career development; building relationships with coaches; the emergence of chat API; and much more.

Other sessions and Educational Lounge (small group learning sessions) will focus on Adobe training, video production; statistical and scoring rules and best practices in collaboration with colleagues with stat setups and exchanges; NCAA Live Stats/Genius Sports Q&As; producitivy and work apps; new great ideas and trends in social, to name a few.

Divisional Day will be held on Monday, June 12. Most divisions have already announced their programming topics and schedules.

An All-Star Night of Honors to celebrate the CSC Hall of Fame Class of 2023 will be held later than Monday, beginning with a reception at 5 pm.

The Academic All-America Hall of Fame Class of 2023 will be inducted during a luncheon ceremony on Tuesday, June 13, and the CSC Special Awards recipients will be feted at a luncheon event on Wednesday, June 13.

For the best rates, register by April 14. Member rates are currently $385, then will increase to $435 from April 15-May 12. Non-member rates are $600 throughout registration.

As of April 5, rooms remain available at the World Center Marriott Resort at $209 per night plus tax. Rooms are also available at the Marriott Village and Caribe Royale, with shuttle services among the hotels available throughout the convention.
