College Sports Information Directors of America

The University of Detroit Mercy has announced that P.J. Gradowski will join the UDM Athletic Department as an Assistant Sports Information Director.

Gradowski has spent the last two years in the private field. Prior to that, he worked in the media relations office at Indiana University during the 2004-05 season. At IU, he was the primary contact for women’s soccer, softball and the men’s and women’s outdoor track and field program. He also contributed to the media relations efforts for football and men’s and women’s basketball.

Before that, he was an intern in the sports information office at Ohio University. At Ohio, he served as the main contact for women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s swimming and diving and baseball.

The Bronx, N.Y., native has also been a volunteer media relations assistant at a number of championship events, including the 2004 and 2006 Motor City Bowl, 2005 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament and the 2002 NCAA Hockey East Regional.

Gradowski is a 2003 graduate of Quinnipiac University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication. At Quinnipiac, he was as a student assistant in the Sports Information Office during his junior and senior year, assisting with the stat crew operations and game management for all varsity sports.
