Jordan Herrod Named By Peers As PacWest SID of the Year

IRVINE, Calif.– The 2020 PacWest SID of the Year award was given to Jordan Herrod from Fresno Pacific this year at the annual conference meeting for sports information directors, recognizing Herrod for his outstanding work as the Sunbirds' Director of Athletics Communications.
"This is a well-earned honor for Jordan," PacWest Sports Communications Director Jared Pinesaid. "He is a pleasure to work with for all the SIDs around the conference. He has risen the bar for what athletics communications looks like in our conference with innovative content on social media that does an excellent job highlighting the student-athletes at Fresno Pacific University."
Herrod completed his fourth year working at Fresno Pacific and his first full year as the Director of Athletics Communications. Herrod oversees all of Fresno Pacific's content at fpuathletics.com that went through a major redesign over the summer as well as the content on social media. His duties also extend to gameday where he oversees statistics, photography and live streaming of all home events for the all 15 sports for the Sunbirds.
"Winning this award is something that has been a goal here for a number of years, so to know that our coworkers across the league think this highly of us is flattering," Herrod said. "FPU has a long tradition of deserving people for this award, so there are definitely lots of fingerprints on this one. We are very excited to join the club and grateful for the opportunity to continue to market our university, league and industry at a high level. "
Herrod also covered the women's basketball team's run to the PacWest Championships semifinals, which was the program's best finish since joining the conference. He joins a special list of outstanding SIDs in the history of the PacWest conference.
