NCAA Media Coordination and Statistics Newsletter - July 2013 edition
College Sports Information Directors of America
This newsletter is put together by the NCAA national office media coordination and statistics staff specifically for SIDs. This will continue to come out the first Wednesday of the month. If you have any comments or anything you would like to see in the future, please contact Mark Bedics (mbedics@ncaa.org). This is being sent to every email address that we have on file through the statistics sport databases. If there is anyone else that needs to be added that did not receive it, please let us know. Thank you.
Fall Schedule and Roster Links Live
Your schedule and roster links are live for the following fall sports: field hockey, football, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball. The deadline for schedule entry is Wednesday, August. 7, so we can edit all schedules and have the links live for your first contests. P lease update your roster as soon as you’re able to, but we know that you might not have that information by the schedule deadline. It must be updated prior to your first contest, however. (Plus, coaching changes information we receive from the roster link assists us in the coaching records section of the records book!)
Log-in at this link: http://web1.ncaa.org/stats/StatsSrv/login to make your schedule/roster updates. If you need your username/password, contact a member of the media coordination or statistics staff.
Handy link for SIDs: http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/myconnect/public/ncaa/resources/stats/sids/forsids - has RPI code listing, statistics policies, memos and uploading information.
How do I get my hands on previous years’ RPIs?
Access: http://rpiarchive.ncaa.org … then select the RPI data that you’re looking for – sport, nitty gritty or team sheets, etc., and you’ll have access to pdfs of these reports. They’re in chronological order for the year selected, so you might have to advance to the next page to get the specific report you’re looking for.
We’ve had a lot of turnover in our sports information office… and I can’t find our final statistics/results for several years for one of our programs. Can I get those from the NCAA?
Access: http://web1.ncaa.org/stats/StatsSrv/careersearch and on the right-hand side, choose your school, year, and sport. The final statistics and results that were submitted to the NCAA Statistics Department are available to you. All final stats/results prior to online submissions are in pdf format.
