| CoSIDA member impact survey – NCAA DI men's soccer 21st century model | As of April 4, CoSIDA has received well over 200 responses to a survey distributed to our potentially affected Division I members about the impact of the proposed 21st Century Model for men's soccer. The model would redistribute the competitive season over two semesters and move the championship to the spring. It is meant to provide a better student-athlete experience to more evenly distribute academics, competition, and student life. Information from the developers of the plan can be found at https://www.21stcenturymodel.org/. The vote on this proposal will take place in mid-April. The CoSIDA Executive Board of Directors and national staff recognize this proposed change will have an impact on CoSIDA members, as well as other support staff. CoSIDA is submitting a memo on behalf of the membership to the Division I Council expressing our concerns. If your institution sponsors men’s soccer at the NCAA Division I level and you haven’t participated in the survey, please do. Contact CoSIDA staff for the survey link. This is a great reminder to CoSIDA members of the importance and value of getting involved with NCAA committees. Links about committee service are available under each division at NCAA.org. |
