Generating consistent statistics and maintaining accurate stat reporting are essential responsibilities within every athletic communications department. This session provides a clear review of how NCAA men’s lacrosse rules apply to stat keeping and offers guidance on proper scoring techniques to ensure accuracy across all levels of experience.
This video features a discussion and insights on:
- College men’s lacrosse rules and how they should be applied to statistical decisions
- Best practices for pregame preparation, including roster setup, assigning stat crew roles, managing uniform number issues, and collaborating effectively with your opponent’s SID
- In-game scoring techniques such as entering starters, identifying reliable information sources when a play is unclear, and recording accurate statistics
- Approaches for handling difficult or unusual plays, troubleshooting in real time, and correctly applying ground ball definitions and scoring
- Best practices for postgame workflows, including editing game files, communicating with coaches, and working collaboratively with fellow SIDs
