Southeastern Louisiana Promotes Sullivan
College Sports Information Directors of America
Southeastern Louisiana University's Matt Sullivan has been promoted to associate media relations director announced Director of Athletics Frank Pergolizzi.
Sullivan, who has been a member of the sports information staff at Southeastern since 2000, served as assistant sports information director for the past four years.
"Matt has been a tremendous asset to the program and the promotion is well deserved," remarked Pergolizzi. "With the addition of football, Matt¹s scope of responsibility changed and this new title reflects that change as well as more adequately identifies his role in the department."
Sullivan serves as the primary contact for men¹s basketball and as contact for volleyball and baseball while assisting with football duties, including coordination of the football Game Day magazine.
A 1994 graduate of Southeastern, Sullivan returned to Hammond after spending two years at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. While at Samford, he handled day-to-day publicity for football, baseball and the men¹s basketball team, which earned a berth in the 1999 and 2000 NCAA Men¹s Basketball Championships.
Prior to his stint at Samford, Sullivan served as a graduate assistant in the Southeastern SID office under Barry Niemeyer and also served as a student intern under longtime SID Larry Hymel.
Sullivan resides in Slidell with his wife, Stephanie and son Matthew, age 5.
