Yeshiva University Director of Athletics Joe Bednarsh has announced the hiring of Michael Spinner as the University's new Associate Director of Athletics and Sports Information Director. Spinner, 30, a Queens, New York native, comes to Yeshiva after spending the last three years as Assistant Director of Athletics and Sports Information Director, and the last five years as Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, a fellow member of the Skyline Conference. Prior to Mount Saint Vincent, Spinner spent his entire professional career working in intercollegiate athletics and journalism.

"I'm excited that Mike Spinner has decided to join the athletics staff at Yeshiva. Having worked with Mike as a Sports Information Director colleague prior to taking the Athletics Director position at Yeshiva, I saw first hand the excellent work he performed at Mount Saint Vincent. Mike's background in collegiate athletics, journalism, and his experience working within the Skyline Conference will make him an asset to our department." Bednarsh said.

At Mount Saint Vincent, Spinner was responsible for the publicity and promotion of all 16 intercollegiate athletics programs, and was instrumental in the development of a new website for intercollegiate athletics, as well as the creation of a new brand identity and logo for the department. He also helped oversee several other projects and initiatives for Mount Saint Vincent Athletics. Spinner also founded the Women's Lacrosse program at Mount Saint Vincent and quickly developed one of the powerhouse programs in the region as Mount Saint Vincent enjoyed a 30-19 regular season record from 2004-06 and advanced to the Skyline Conference and ECAC Upstate/Metro Semifinals during the last two seasons. Spinner coached 10 All-Conference selections during the last two seasons, and will coach internationally for the second straight year when he leads Team USA at the upcoming Aussie Titles Tournament in Sydney, Australia from July 5-17.

Prior to Mount Saint Vincent, Spinner spent two and a half years at World Wrestling Entertainment in Stamford, Connecticut as the company's Internet Content Editor. He also worked at Street & Smith's Publishing as the Managing Editor of the now defunct 360Lacrosse.com among other journalism stops, and is currently the Senior Columnist for e-lacrosse.com. He also had coaching stints at Salisbury State University, Manhattanville College, Quinnipiac University, and Greenwich High School in Connecticut.

"It's an honor to come to a terrific institution like Yeshiva University, and join Joe Bednarsh and his outstanding staff during a very exciting time for intercollegiate athletics at YU. I had an incredible five years at Mount Saint Vincent, and I will miss it very much. At the same time, I am thrilled to continue to work in the Skyline Conference, and excited for the future of Yeshiva University Athletics." Spinner said.

Spinner, a 1999 graduate of Pace University in Pleasantville, New York, will be involved in all facets of the Yeshiva University Athletics Administration while also serving as the Department's Sports Information Director.
