• Temple University honors award-winning SID and CoSIDA Hall of Famer Al Shrier
• Temple to honor longtime SID Al Shrier with 80th birthday roast

Al Shrier was inducted into the CoSIDA Hall of Fame in 1995, the same year he was honored by the organization with a Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2010, he was the recipient of the Arch Ward Award, an award presented to a current member who has made outstanding contributions to the field of college sports information, and by who his or her activities, has brought dignity and prestige to the profession. In 2013, Shrier was the longest active CoSIDA member. The Philadelphia native is also a member of the Big 5 Hall of Fame, Temple Athletics Hall of Fame and Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6 at Goldstein’s Funeral Home, 6410 N. Broad St., Philadelphia. The family will start receiving visitors at 10:30 a.m.
