College Sports Information Directors of America

Birmingham-Southern College has announced the promotion of two staff members and the addition of a third.

Sports Information Director Jason Falls has been promoted to assistant athletic director for media services and sports information director, Assistant Director Will Chandler has been named associate sports information director and Bailey Mixon has been named assistant sports information director for the institution.

Birmingham-Southern begins its first year of full NCAA Division I membership this fall, and is a member of the Big South Conference.

Falls, who has served BSC as sports information director since July of 2001, will assume production and talent responsibilities for all of Birmingham-Southern College's broadcast properties, including "The BSC Sports Show," a weekly, 30-minute magazine television program broadcast 25 weeks each year on the WB-21, WTTO in Birmingham and again on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast.

Falls assumed radio play-by-play duties for BSC basketball and baseball broadcasts last year and will continue with those duties. Falls will oversee all aspects of media relations, publications and event management for BSC's 14 intercollegiate sports. He is a 1995 graduate of Morehead State University.

Chandler, who enters his third year at BSC as well, will now assume duties as the primary contact for men's basketball in addition to his previous roles as primary contact for men's soccer and baseball. The 1998 graduate of Mississippi State University will also handle cross country and tennis for the department while offering day-to-day oversight of all media relations.

Mixon, a 2001 graduate of BSC and former volleyball standout at the school, begins her first year as Assistant SID after serving for one year as an intern in the department.

The Mobile, Ala., native will handle women's basketball, women's soccer, volleyball and softball in addition to sports information duties for women's rifle and men's and women's golf.
